The Offaly driver was handed a 9th place finish as a result.
Offaly's Alex Dunne was stripped of his win at the Belgian F2 Feature Race at the weekend.
The junior McLaren driver thought he had picked up his third victory of the season after crossing the line first in Spa yesterday.
However following the race he was handed a 10-second time penalty for failing to engage the start set-up procedure at the start of the Formation Lap.
That means he has been handed 9th place and falls from first in the drivers' championship to 4th in the standings.
