Allianz Leagues Back This Weekend

All local sides involved. Lidl Ladies Football League returns as well.

It's a big weekend in Gaelic Games action with the return of the National Hurling and Football Leagues and all local counties will be involved on Saturday and Sunday.

In Hurling Laois are in Division 1B and will open their campaign with a match against Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford at MW Hire O'Moore Park at 7pm.

Westmeath start life in Division 1A  with a very difficult match away to Galway at Pearse Stadium. The throw- in is at 12.30pm.

Offaly will ply their trade in in Division 2A and they begin their season in Birr on Sunday at 2pm against Meath.


In Football Offaly start their division three campaign away in Pairc Ui Caoimh a with clash with Cork on Saturday evening at 6pm

On Sunday Jack Cooney's Westmeath will open their year against Clare at TEG Cusack Park in Mullingar at 2pm in division two.

Laois are away against Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park also on Sunday at 2pm in the same division.


In the Lidl Ladies Football League Westmeath begin their division one campaign with a trip to Cork on Saturday evening when they face Cork at Pairc Ui Caoimh at 4pm.

In Division two Laois are at home to Wicklow while in division four Offaly will be travelling to face Antrim.


In Camogie in the All-Ireland Intermediate club semi-finals the Offaly and Leinster champions St Rynagh's will face Carnmore of Galway at Duggan Park in Ballinasloe on Sunday at 2pm
