Golf Writers Association player of the year
Shane Lowry was last night named the Irish Golf Writers’ Association Professional Player of the Year for 2019.
The Open champion also won the Abu Dhabi championship in 2019
The award was presented at an awards dinner, sponsored by Allianz, at Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links in Co Dublin on last night.
Other awards went to James Sugrue from Mallow who won the Amateur Championship, and Annabel Wilson from Lurgan who won the Irish Close during the year.
Des Smyth was given a Distinguished Service To Golf award.
