Dario Castelo's men came away with a 2-1 win.
Athlone Town got back to winning ways in the League of Ireland First Division on Friday night.
Dario Castelo's men secured a 2-1 win away to second placed Waterford, with all the game's goals coming in the opening 15 minutes.
Dylan Gavin gave the town the lead after just 13 minutes, before a crazy 60 seconds saw Roland Idowu level for the home side before Town's top scorer Frantz Pierrot scored the winner on the 16th minute.
Athlone are next in action against third place Cobh Ramblers on Saturday, and will go above their opponents in the table with a victory.
