Athlone teenager Dara McGuinness has made the move to English Championship side Stoke City.

The 18-year-old striker had been at the Shamrock Rovers Academy, and has also represented his country at Under-16 and Under-18 level.

He's likely to be challenging for a place in Stoke's Under-21 side next season.

The first team is currently managed by former Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill, and was most recently in the Premier League in 2018.
