Athlone Town Aim To Address Worrying Slump In The South East

They've also reportedly added Portlaoise defender Garry Comeford to their ranks.

Athlone Town make the trip around the M50 to the sunny South East this evening.

They take on Wexford from 7.45.

A run of one win in eight has seen Adrian Carberry's team has seen them drop to 7th in the table and out of the playoffs at the moment.

Having comfortably dispatched a young Wexford outfit 3-0 in the reverse fixture, the black and blue will view this as an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways.

The signing window is now open for League Of Ireland clubs and the midlanders have reportedly added Portlaoise defender Garry Comeford to their ranks.

Comeford was most recently at Cork City but has also played for Waterford, Cobh Ramblers, Avondale and Shamrock Rovers.
