It'll be an entirely new structure in place for the new campaign.
Athlone Town have added to their new look this season by appointing a director of football.
Dermot Lennon comes into the role steeped in the history of the club, having played right through the age groups for the Westmeath outfit as well as in the senior ranks.
He's also held various coaching positions over the years at the club and will be tasked with ensuring a pathway to the first team for the current crop of underage talent.
The club has done well in this regard in recent seasons, seeing the likes of Adam Lennon and Jack Reynolds come through and establish themselves in the first team.
It remains to be seen how closely he will work alongside new manager Martin Russell, who is continuing to assemble his squad for the 2022 season.
In a statement on Facebook, the club said:
Athlone Town AFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Dermot Lennon to the position of Director of Football.
Dermot, who is very well known to Athlone fans as well as the wider football family, has been involved with the club as a player from underage to senior football and from coaching to managing at all levels within the club and will bring a wealth of experience to the role.
He will work with all our teams, both senior and underage, to ensure that each team has the best possible opportunities to achieve their full potential.
We wish Dermot all the best in his new role.
