Athlone Town's Visit To Limerick Postponed

They were hoping for a first win of the season tonight.

Athlone Town's wait for their first win SSE Airtricity First Division of the season continues.

Their meeting with Treaty United this evening has been postponed.

The pitch conditions at The Markets Field in Limerick have been deemed unsuitable following severe weather.

The League of Ireland says a new date for the fixture will be arranged in due course.

The Midlanders lost out 5-2 to Waterford last weekend, in what was Martin Russell's first game in charge.

They've made two signings in the last week - 19 year old defender Cian Kelly has moved to the midlands from St. Pat's, while Athlone Town Academy graduate Israel Kimazo makes his return to the club.

Elsewhere,

Waterford are at home to Bray Wanderers, Cobh Ramblers take on Wexford, and Cork City entertain Galway.
