It's been an eventful few weeks for the midlands club.
Athlone Town have moved to quash a number of rumours circulating around the club in recent weeks.
Stories have emerged about a deal to sell the club being complete, about three separate managers lined up to take over the senior men's squad, there was even a phantom press conference called by someone outside the club on behalf of the club.
A senior source from within the club says they're frustrated at the level of inaccurate reporting around the team at the moment.
They confirmed there is likely a change coming at board level after the departure of the Valeo Football Group, but the ownership of the club won't change.
They insist no deal has been done.
Reports of a group called Tiger 11, headed by Zack Goldman, being close to a deal are wide of the mark, however investors involved with Plymouth Argyle are said to be the leading candidates.
All three of Ruadhri Higgins, Keith Long, and Ian Ryan have been talked to regarding the manager's position.
It appears Higgins is out of the running with former Bray boss Ryan the most likely candidate as things stand.
In a bizarre turn of events, a number of soccer writers were contacted about a press conference in the club this morning.
The press release states "significant changes to the club will be officially announced".
The club insist they never called the event, and had to turn journalists away this morning.
