Boss Terry Butler feels it's an ongoing struggle for the club.
Athlone Town manager Terry Butler says he would prefer to be able to continue on as team manager of the club in 2020, but the situation has to change, whereby the club is unable to hold on to it's best players.
The Town played their final game of the season on Saturday night, a 2-2 draw with Galway United.
