Athlone Town Players ''Staying Competitive'' During Uncertainty

No League Of Ireland fixtures have been played in over a month.

It's been a month since the last League Of Ireland fixture took place but the players of Athlone Town are having to keep fit in the hope of the season resuming in the coming weeks and months. 

The Midlands club were just three games into their first division campaign when the league came to a halt. 

Vice-captain John Morgan is one of many across the league that combine their role as a player with a job outside of football. 

He says that the competitive nature of the squad remains despite the lack of collective training:
