Emmanuel James Oluwafemi scored a late winner for Longford.
Ian Ryan is still waiting for his first win as Athlone Town manager after his side fell to a late 3-2 defeat away to Longford Town last night.
Town were in front with 17 minutes to go thanks to two first half goals from Dean Williams and Billy Gilmore.
However, Aaron Doran drew the sides level with a penalty to add to his first half strike, before Emmanuel James Oluwafemi netted an 88th minute winner for Longford.
Defeat means Athlone remain bottom of the First Division and without a win since the beginning of May.
They welcome Bray Wanderers to the midlands this Friday.
