Athlone Town teenager Eoin Sheerin has been called up to the Ireland U-16s squad for the Victory Shield tournament.
It's scheduled to take place this October in Belfast, before that there will be a double header in September.
Head Coach Paul Osam has called up 19 players for the competition.
The U16 Head Coach, who has twice led Ireland to Victory Shield glory, will be giving his 2006-born players a first taste of international football after they missed out on experience at U15 level due to COVID-19.
