The former captain takes over from David Cuddy who stepped away from the role following their sides defeat to Clough Ballacolla in the Laois County Final.
Cuddy led the club to championship success in 2023 as they beat Abbeyleix St Lazarian's in the decider.
Meawhile, holders Clough Ballacolla are still on the hunt for a new manager following the exit of Willie Hyland.
