Carlow The Opposition For Laois In Walsh Cup Shield

Tommy Fitzgerald's side can book their place in the semi-finals this evening.

Laois will be aiming to secure their first win of the season in the Walsh Cup Shield Quarter Final this evening. 

Tommy Fitzgerald's side take on Carlow, looking to reach the final four, with the game set to get underway from Stradbally at 7:30pm. 

The O'Moore County were beaten by Wexford at the weekend, while Carlow lost out at home to Dublin.

Elsewhere, St Brendan's Community School have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Leinster Colleges Senior B Hurling Championship.

The Birr side claimed a hard working victory as they saw off Gorey Community School on a final scoreline of 2-18 to 1-15. 

Eddie Carty finished the game with 1-6, with Sean Carey also impressing with 0-7. 

Tom O'Dwyer got his side's other goal. 

St Brendan's will now face the winners Cistercian of Roscrea or Ardscoil Ris of Dublin in the final four.
