City Of Armagh Break Buccs' Hearts In Athlone

A win in the final round would have secured the Westmeath club a place in the play-offs.

It was heartbreak for Buccaneers in the last round of the AIL on Saturday.

The Westmeath club would have secured a promotion play off spot in Division 1B of the league with a win over league leaders City of Armagh.

It wasn't to be for Eddie O'Sullivan's side who slipped to their fourth consecutive defeat on a final scoreline of 31-24.

That result coupled with Old Wesley's win away to Naas consigned the Pirates to another campaign in the division next season.

It takes place in The Bounty, in Athlone on Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon April 30th.

The action starts at 3.30 p.m.
