Former Roscommon player had strong Offaly connections
Former Roscommon footballer Conor Conelly, who lived in Ballycumber Co Offaly died suddenly on Saturday morning.
Aged just 44, the Creggs native played for Roscommon in the late 1990's and and early 2000's winning a Connacht senior medal in 2001 playing in the half-forward line against Mayo in the final at Dr Hyde Park.
He played for St Mel's College Longford where he won a Leinster Colleges medal in 1994.
He played club football for his native Creggs and also for St Jude's in Dublin.
A solicitor by profession, he settled in Ballycumber County Offaly a number of years ago and was involved as assistant secretary with the club and he assisted with the management of several teams in the club.
Conor was also a Director of Ballycumber Leamonaghan Community Developments CLG and a member of the Board of Management of Boher National School.
Conor was married to Claire (nee Quinn) and has three children Caragh Rossa and Eoin.
