Cusack Park Set To Host Potential Home Swan Song For Westmeath Elder-Statesmen

Sunday will see Westmeath play their final home game of the year barring progression from their group.

Westmeath fans may be saying farewell to one or two footballers from the county's senior panel this year.

The Lake County are facing into what might be their last home game of the inter-county season in a Maroon derby against Galway.

The Connacht champions have already picked up a win in their opening round against Derry, while Westmeath were comfortably beaten by Armagh last weekend.

Midlands 103 Analyst Gerry Buckley says if some of the panel's elder statesmen are departing, they deserve a big send off.

He looks forward to Westmeath's meeting with Galway with David Hollywood:

Throw in at Cusack Park is set for 3pm on Sunday.
