High profile appointments imminent
There are strong rumours that Davy Fitzgerald is set to be appointed as the new Galway hurling manager.
Betting on the Clareman was suspended yesterday as the speculation continued and there is an announcewent expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Donnacha Boyle is GAA correspondent with the Irish Independent and he says that if Fitzgerald opts for Galway there will be major disappointment in Wexford where he has been the manager for the past three years.
Meanwhile Liam Cahill is poised to be appointed the new Waterford manager.
Cahill has steered Tipperary to All Ireland titles at minor, under-21 and under-20 levels.
He'll replace Páraic Fanning, who stepped down after less than a year at the helm.
Should Cahill be appointed, he'll be Waterford's first outside manager since Davy Fitzgerald.
