Declan Kelly: If Players Can Win Their Individual Battles Offaly Will Do Well

Kelly's first competitive outing with the county's senior team takes place this weekend.

Offaly's new manager believes any team can get promoted, and any team can get relegated from Division Three of the National Football League this year.

Declan Kelly leads his players into their first competitive action of the year against Westmeath in Glenisk O'Connor Park this weekend.

The former under 20 All Ireland winning manager believes a large portion of the success or failure in each county's league campaign will be down to players winning their individual battles.

Kelly will have plenty of background knowledge on the opposition after bringing St Loman's of Mullingar to three consecutive county finals, winning two of them.

He tells Midlands 103's David Hollywood Westmeath are coming into the contest from an elevated background:
