Cavan have confirmed the appointment of Dermot McCabe as their new senior football manager.
He leaves his role with the Westmeath footballers after just one season at the helm after being appointed manager in 2024.
Despite relegation from Division two and an early exit from the Tailteann Cup, Westmeath were hopeful McCabe would stay on for another season.
He won an Ulster Championship with his native county in 1997 and collected an All Star in the same year.
He takes over from Raymond Galligan and leaves his role as Westmeath's manager to take the reins in the Breffni County.
