Dozens Of Japanese Towns Shelve Plans To Host Olympic Athletes

The country continues to battle with a surge in coronavirus cases.

Dozens of Japanese towns have shelved plans to host Olympic athletes as the country battles a wave of coronavirus. 

The games are due to begin in Tokyo on July 23rd, but opinion polls have shown that the majority of natives want the games cancelled. 

To date, Japan has vaccinated less than 3 percent of its population and Tokyo is in a state of emergency.
