The Rodin Motorsport racer combined quick thinking strategy with solid racing in Spain.

Alex Dunne is back on top of the Formula 2 World Championship standings after a double points finish in Barcelona over the weekend.

The Offaly teenager overcame grid penalties in both races, producing a near perfect performance in Saturday's sprint race to move from 19th to finish in second place.

Dunne then followed that up with a polished performance in the feature race on Sunday to come home in fifth position.

Those results leave the McLaren junior at the top of the championship with a three point lead over Richard Verschoor of the Netherlands.

The F2 Championship returns on the last weekend in June in Austria.
