The McLaren Junior driver has endured a number of incidents already this season.
Alex Dunne will start in 18th for this weekend's sprint race after being hit with a 13 place grid penalty in Spain.
A difficult F2 weekend for the Offaly teenager went from bad to worse in Spain after three places were added to a previous penalty after stewards in Barcelona deemed him to be entirely at fault for a collision with Victor Martins in the pitlane during practice this morning.
The Clonbullogue teenager was already carrying a ten place penalty into the weekend after causing a multi-car pile up in Monaco last Sunday.
Dunne clocked the second fastest time in practice before going fifth in qualifying.
He'll also carry a three place penalty into Sunday's feature race.
