Gleeson enjoyed an unblemished record in her time as a caretaker manager.
Eileen Gleeson has been confirmed as the new Republic of Ireland women’s manager.
She held the role on an interim basis following Vera Pauw’s departure.
Her tenure saw a change in tactical approach and in the deployment of the likes of Denise O'Sullivan and Katie McCabe.
She enjoyed a 100% record with Ireland in the Nations League, scoring 20 goals, conceding just two.
Gleeson’s appointment comes after what FAI CEO Jonathan Hill had previously described as a ‘global search’ across the women’s game.
