Scotland had to beat England earlier today for the Republic of Ireland to have any chance of winning.
The Republic of Ireland's under 15 girls finished their Bob Docherty Cup campaign on a winning note in Athlone today.
England's penalty shooutout victory over Scotland earlier this afternoon secured them the John Read Trophy before Ireland and Northern Ireland kicked a ball.

It was Eva Loftus's 25 yard strike that proved the difference for the Republic of Ireland today.
Both Abbie Duffy and Mia Murtagh came close to adding to that lead only to be stopped by Bell in the Northern Irish goal.
