First Ever Penalty Shoot-Out Helps Decide Offaly Football Final Places

A notable parish was also relegated for the first time in half a century.

Rhode and Tullamore will meet in the 2020 Offaly Senior Football Final. 

Tullamore came through the first ever penalty shootout to dismiss reigning champions Ferbane, while Rhode had a more conventional path in seeing off Edenderry.  

Championship top scorer Niall McNamee added a crucial goal in a four point win for Rhode. 

The results in full:

Rhode 1-14; Edenderry 0-13. 
Ferbane 1-14; Tullamore 0-17, Tullamore winning 9-8 in the shootout. 

ElsewhereClara have been relegated from the senior football championship for the first time since the 1950's. 

They were defeated by Bracknagh in the relegation playoff on a scoreline of 2-17 to 3-11. 

2-1 from the boot of Ronan Galbrith helping last year's intermediate champions retain their senior status.
