Foley Won't Take Up CEO Role At FAI

Further trouble for the association

The Football Association of Ireland say they note with great regret the decision of John Foley to back down from his new role as interim CEO.

It's been confirmed the former Athletics Ireland chief executive will not be taking up the role, which he was due to start today.

Foley had previously agreed to replace Noel Mooney as the FAI's interim chief.

In a statement, the FAI say his experience and influence will be missed, adding that the board will meet to discuss their next step.
