He had been involved with Cistercian College Roscrea since 2017.
The former Irish rugby international Gary Halpin has passed away suddenly at the age of 55.
He had been acting as Head of Boarding at Cistercian College Roscrea which is located just over the border with Offaly.
Everyone at Irish Rugby is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Ireland international Gary Halpin.

Gary won 11 Test caps, representing Ireland at the 1991 and 1995 Rugby World Cups.

Kilkenny native Halpin made 11 appearances for his country as a prop forward between 1990 and 1995, scoring a try against New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup in 1995.
He also played for Leinster, London Irish and Harlequins.
