Four Midlands Players Involved As DCU Capture Ryan Cup

Three from Offaly and one from Laois made the panel.

DCU captured the Higher Education Division One League title in style in Tubberclair yesterday afternoon following a 0-16 to 1-7 victory over NUI Galway. 

Among the local players represented were Offaly duo Bill Carroll and Jack Bryant in the forward line, while Daingean's Shane Tierney and Mark Barry of O'Dempseys and Laois were among the replacements. 

There'll be no shortage of collegiate action for the quartet, with DCU's Sigerson opener against NUI Maynooth slated for six days time. 

They ran out six point winners in the end of this contest however, having led by the narrowest of margins at half time and kicking on in the second period.
