Four Wins in a Row for Athlone Town in Women's National League

Athlone Town were comprehensive 4-1 winners at Cork City on Saturday.

Athlone Town continue to climb up the Women's National League table after a fourth successive win.

They beat Cork City 4-1 at Turners Cross on Saturday to move to fourth in the table.

Muireann Devaney scored twice for Athlone with the other goals coming from Emily Corbett and Gillian Keenan.

Meanwhile, on Friday night there was late heartache for Athlone Town's men's side in the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland First Division.

The midlanders took an early lead against the league leaders Cork City but were eventually beaten 2-1 after a 94th minute winner.
