The Raharney captain is paying tribute to his beaten opponents after the county final.
Raharney are reflecting on their 15th senior hurling title this week.
Westmeath's new champions emerged from a dramatic contest with Lough Lene Gaels to regain the crown won by Castletown Geoghegan last year.
The Gaels found their feet midway through the first half, while Raharney failed to make many of their better scoring chances count.
Robbie Greville's side survived hitting wides and conceding goals, thanks to scores from both Brian McGrath and dramatically, Killian Doyle.

Greville tells Midlands 103's Gerry Russell, Raharney's opposition would have been deserving winners had Doyle's goal not gone in at the end:
The Westmeath champions will now move on to face the winners of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship next month.
