The Rathdowney man resigned on Friday.
Dundalk have confirmed that Filippo Giovagnoli has left the club.
The Italian left yesterday after his side's 1-1 draw against St Pats on Saturday, which left club second-bottom in the league without a win from their opening five games.
Giovagnoli arrived at Oriel Park last August and helped the Lilywhites reach the group stages of the UEFA Europa League before they went on to win the FAI Cup last December.
It follows Shane Keegan's departure as team manager, which the Lilywhites have also confirmed.
