Abbeyleix were competing in their first county final since 1949.
Camross 4-18
Abbeyleix 0-14
From the opening minute it looked clear. Camross had shown up and Abbeyleix St Lazarians were in for a tough day in Portlaoise.
There was 43 seconds on the clock when Tomas Keyes rattled in his first goal of three. All of which came in the opening 16 minutes.
Thereafter Camross controlled proceedings, dominating at every turn. The gap was 11 points at half time.
Abbeyleix will reflect with some pride that they started the second half with purpose, scoring the next two points.
It got no better than that from their perspective, and Camross finished the contest with scores from Dan Delaney and Oisin Bennett to seal an impressive title winning performance.
