Goals Swing Offaly Contest Westmeath's Way

Dessie Dolan is praising his players for landing the scores needed to win in Mullingar yesterday.

It was a combination of "class" and "composure" that got Westmeath over the line against Offaly in the National Football League yesterday.

That's what Lake County manager Dessie Dolan is saying after seeing his side win out on a final scoreline of 2-12 to 12 points.

The Tailteann Cup Champions were down at the break, having played against the wind, but rallied in the second period.

A brace of Kieran Martin goals was enough to separate the sides at the full time whistle.
