Westmeath fell to Laois in the National Hurling League Division 1B.
"Goals win games" were the words from Westmeath Hurling boss Seoirse Bulfin as his side sufferd their third successive in the National Hurling League Division 1B campaign.
Two goals in each half proved the difference for Laois, with sub Niall O’Brien the only man from the Lake County to find the net in the 45th minute.
Despite playing with an extra man in the final half hour due to PJ Scully's sending off, the home side were unable to reel in their neignbours, losing on a scoreline of 1-19 to 4-18.
The Westmeath manager said his team were chasing the game for large periods.
