Brett has been working closely with the men's first team.
Gordon Brett will take over as Athlone Town's First Team Manager after Dermot Lennon has stepped away from the role.
It was thought that Brett may take a step away from the first team set up as American-based, Valeo FC came into the club as investors.
However, after a number of discussions with the new investors, it's set to be confirmed by the midlanders today that Brett will lead Athlone Town in Division One of the League of Ireland this season.
Lennon will continue at the club as Director of Football working with Athlone's youth team pathways.
Cobh Ramblers are in Lissywollen to play Town tomorrow evening, where a win will keep Brett's side in the chasing pack for promotion.
