Greater Balance Needed In Hurling Championship

That's the message from one county chairman in the midlands.

Offaly Chairman Michael Duignan thinks the GAA needs to find a greater balance between a knockout and extended hurling championship.

The round robin format will not return next year, meaning Laois and newly promoted Antrim could face relegation back to the Joe McDonagh Cup from the Leinster Championship after just two outings.

Meanwhile in Munster, no side faces the prospect of relegation.
