In the Allianz Hurling League over the weekend there were wins for Laois and Offaly and a loss for Westmeath.
On Saturday night MW Hire O'Moore Park Laois recorded a vital one point win against Carlow, a result that will almost certainly preserve their Division 1B status for next season.
Westmeath were well beaten by All Ireland champions Tipperary in Nenagh in Division 1A going down by 3-27 to 16 points.
Division 2A Offaly had a very easy win against Mayo in Ballyhaunis.
