The Irishman was last seen in November.
Ian Garry’s second UFC fight has been announced with the Irishman scheduled to face Darian Weeks at April’s UFC 273 event.
Garry was last seen in November scoring a first round KO win over Jordan Williams at UFC 268 with just one second remaining in the round.
The 8-0 Irish prospect will look to build on a hugely impressive 2021 which saw him win three straight fights, claim the Cage Warriors Welterweight Title, début in the UFC and relocate America.
Now training out of Sanford MMA Garry has no lack of elite partners to train with in a gym featuring former UFC Welterweight champion Robbie Lawler as well as former title challengers Rory McDonald and Gilbert Burns.
His next opponent Darian Weeks will enter with a 5-1 record after suffering a unanimous decision loss to veteran Bryan Barbarena at December’s UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Aldo event where he made his début.
A relative unknown Weeks signed with the UFC less than a week before his début taking the short notice offer when Matt Brown withdrew due to testing positive for Covid-19. He is also more experienced than his pro record shows with an extensive 15-3 amateur record as well as two pro boxing fights.
Expected to be placed on the prelims this fight joins an already stacked card featuring two title fights. The main event pitting Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski against Chang Sung Jung and the long awaited Bantamweight unification rematch between champion Aljamian Sterling and Interim champion Petr Yan.
