In Form Athlone Town Looking To End 7 Year Derby Drought

However neighbours Longford Town are currently sitting 3rd in the table.

It's derby day in the midlands. 

Athlone Town welcome Longford to Lissywoolen this for a 7:45 kick off.

Adrian Carberry's side go into the game unbeaten in three, taking on Daire Doyle's promotion chasing side who've only lost one of their last five games and that was against a Bray side who look destined for promotion back to the top tier at the moment. 

Athlone will be looking to the First Division leading scorer Ronan Manning to help them to a first win against their fellow midlanders in seven years. 

Similarly, Athlone's youth product Jack Reynolds will be hoping to make it three goal-scoring performances in succession after netting the winner against Wexford and also finding the onion bag against Cobh.
