Westmeath's sole victory in league action came against Antrim.

Westmeath's senior hurlers are in need of a rest, both physically, and mentally, according to their manager.

The Lake County were well beaten in their final league outing of the year by Dublin in Parnell Park on Saturday.

The first half was a competitive affair, however Aaron Craig's red card five minutes before the break handed a significant advantage to the hosts.

Dublin took advantage of the extra man in the second period, with goals from Fergal Whitely and Cian O’Sullivan pushing them to a commanding 2-22 to 0-15 win.
