Ireland Beat Georgia To Book Last Eight Slot At European Championships

Ireland will play either Great Britain or Switzerland in the last eight.

Two Offaly twins helped secure Ireland's place in the quarter-finals of the FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship. 

Emma and Ellie Glavin from Mucklagh are part of the Ireland squad who beat tournament hosts Romania 67-64 on Sunday.

Emma ended the game with six points while Hazel Finn from the University of Galway racked up an impressive 18 points. 

Ella O'Donnell was also a major contributor for Ireland with 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

Ireland secured top spot with a win over Georgia by 82 points to 58 in their final group game which took place this morning.
