Republic Of Ireland Midfielder Tests Positive For Covid-19

No close contacts of Alan Browne have been identified.

Republic of Ireland midfielder Alan Browne has tested positive for COVID-19. 

It rules the Preston player out of the upcoming Nations League games against Wales and Bulgaria. 

The F-A-I says the rest of the squad tested negative following last night's defeat to England and there are no close contacts of Browne.

Manager Stephen Kenny believes his players can pick themselves up for Sunday's Nations League game away to Wales.

The Boys in Green were beaten 3-0 by England at Wembley last night, making it six games without a win under Kenny

Captain Seamus Coleman, who missed last night's game, has also been ruled of the games against Wales and Bulgaria due to injury.

James McCarthy's also a major doubt for both games due to family reasons.
