Irish Athletes Secure Medals At Pony European Championships

Sligo's Paddy Reape was the standout performer over the course of the weekend.

There was great success for Irish athletes at the FEI Pony European Championships last weekend.

Sligo's Paddy Reape on Fernando performed faultlessly to take home gold in the individual show jumping final on Sunday. 

Limerick's Kian Dore secured a bronze medal on Sparkling Lackamore Joey and cemented Ireland's position as number one in Europe for Pony combinations. 

Westmeath's James Derwin finished in a share of fifth place alongside Kilkenny's Abbie Oakey. 

The GAIN Equine Nutrition Irish Pony Eventing Team under the guidance of Jane Kinsella claimed bronze on a score of 88.3, while France claimed silver and Germany won gold.
