The 19 year old set a new Irish record of 50 point 5-3 seconds.
Adeleke says she got distracted in the closing stages and has learned from the experience.
Mark English has advanced to the semi-finals of the men's 800 metres.
The 2014 bronze medalist won his heat in a time of 1 minute 47 point 5-4 seconds.
John Fitzsimons came 7th in his heat.
Michelle Finn finished 7th in her semi final of the 3000 metres Steeplechase in a time of 9 minutes 49 point 8-5 seconds and has qualified for the final.
Eilish Flanagan was 12th in her semi final and missed out on a place in the final.
