Irish Success At Para-Athletics World Championships

Smyth goes for Gold today

Jason Smyth remains on course for a fifth World Para-Athletics gold medal. 

The Derry athlete is into the final of the 100 metres T-13 in Dubai after winning his heat in a in a time of 10.84 seconds. 

The final is later this afternoon. 

Cork's Niamh McCarthy won Ireland's first medal at this year's Games with bronze in the F41 Discus yesterday. 

And Kerry teenager Jordan Lee will hope to add to Ireland's medal tally when he competes in the final of the men's high jump T47.
