Offaly take on Meath in the O'Byrne Cup quarter final tomorrow evening.
Offaly joint manager Mickey Harte believes pre season competitions is positive for players.
He watched as his side secured their first win of the season on Saturday as they saw off Carlow by 3-14 to 3-9 in the O'Byrne Cup.
The secured Offaly a place in the quarter finals.
Harte feels that the O'Byrne Cup can benefit his side as they prepare for the season ahead, with the Faithful set to compete in Division Two of the league, before they host Laois in the Leinster Championship.
