Tributes are paid to former Irish Open winner
Tributes are being paid today to John O'Leary, who won the 1982 Irish Open Golf Championship in 1982 and who has passed away aged 70 after an illness.
The Dublin man also played in the Ryder Cup and he also won on the European Tour and in South Africa as well.
He turned professional in 1971 and he finished second to Ken Brown in the Irish Open in 1978 before going on to win it five years later at Portmarnock.
The next Irish player to win the National Open Championship was Padraig Harrington in 2007.
