Laois And Westmeath Playing For U20 Championship Progression

Both midlands counties have something to play for this weekend.

Laois are competing for passage straight through to a Leinster quarter final  in the under 20 hurling championship this weekend.

The O'Moore County travel to the South East to take on Wexford.

Both counties lost their championship curtain raisers in a heavy defeats against Kilkenny.

The winner of Saturday's meeting in Wexford Park will progress to the last eight, while the losers will enter a pre-liminary quarter final to take on a tier two county.

Elsewhere Westmeath play Derry after their draw with Meath last time out.

They'll escape their tier two group if they avoid defeat.

Both games throw in at 2pm on Saturday.

Offaly meanwhile will await the result of the meeting between Galway and Dublin.

After their draw with Galway last time out, they're guaranteed at least a quarter final spot.
